Six Domains of Intervention

Our Multi-Dimensional Intervention Plans

CPI’s Intervention Plans are made up of the following six domains, which accommodate for the previously discussed areas of instruction (Language, Social, Cognitive, and Behavioral). Two additional areas of instruction are included in CPI’s teaching (Sensory Motor and Adaptive Daily Living) for a more thorough and comprehensive approach to learning.

Domain One – Language and Communication

General Objective: The individual will develop skills to support effective communication with a social partner.

Domain Two – Social Emotional Development

General Objective: The individual will develop skills to support successful, cooperative participation in relationships with peers.

Domain Three – Sensory Motor Development

General Objective: The individual will develop skills to facilitate successful processing of environmental stimuli and participation in his or her environment.

Domain Four – Adaptive Daily Living Skills

General Objective: The individual will develop skills to support functional and independent life skills.

Domain Five – Cognitive Skills

General Objective: The individual will develop cognitive skills supported in meaningful and functional activities.

Domain Six – Proactive Behavior Management – C.P. V.A.L.U.E.S. System

General Objective: The individual will decrease inappropriate, self-injurious, or self-stimulatory behaviors and replace them with effective coping strategies and more socially appropriate behaviors.
