Todd Wahl, Psy.D

Licensed Clinical Psychologist

Dr. Wahl received his Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from Rosemead School of Psychology at Biola University. He does child, adolescent, adult, couples, and family psychotherapy as well as a range of psychological assessments for a wide variety of problems people face. In addition to generalist training as a psychotherapist and evaluator, Dr. Wahl spent two years under intensive clinical supervision by a staff of Doctoral level psychologists doing individual and group psychotherapy with people who have developmental disabilities. This two year training experience focused on understanding the nuances of doing psychotherapy and psychological assessments with individuals who have a developmental disability. After this time in specialized training, Dr. Wahl spent 4 additional years working with developmentally disabled individuals and groups as a licensed psychologist. This work included people with Autism and related conditions. This experience involved understanding and reducing/eliminating self-injurious behavior and physically and verbally aggressive behavior toward others. Other areas and problems Dr. Wahl treats include (but is not limited to) depression, anxiety, complex grief reactions, sexuality concerns, obsessive behavior, compulsive behavior, psychosis, delusions, anger, eating problems, low self-esteem, being marginalized, spirituality/existential concerns, relationship patterns, and what it is like to have a child with a diagnosis of Autism or other developmental disability. Psychological assessments Dr. Wahl provides include cognitive functioning (I.Q., achievement, learning disability), adaptive functioning, personality functioning, and emotional functioning. Dr. Wahl looks forward to meeting his clients, deeply values the relationship ingredients that develop trust, and strives to maintain a safe place for people to discuss their matters of the heart.
