Mission
The Creative Perspectives, Inc. mission is to provide comprehensive, innovative, and effective interventions to individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder, dedication and support to their families and friends, and knowledge and encouragement to the professionals who serve them.
Background
Creative Perspectives, Inc. Autism Center of Colorado is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization established in 2003. Co-founders, Amy K. Gearhard (Clinical Director) and Gina L. Smith (Executive Director), came together bringing over 25 years combined experience in private practice, including work in homes, schools, and community locations in multiple states. Over the years, both Directors came to recognize the significant need in Colorado for a dependable resource capable of providing quality services. With the vision of establishing a single organization where families could access multiple professionals collaborating across disciplines in order to promote cohesiveness and advanced progress – the dream began. Nearly four years later, the organization provides services to well over one hundred families throughout Colorado, all served by a team of nearly fifty skilled professionals who come from a wide variety of disciplines, but all share the same inspired passion for working within the field.
Philosophy
CPI utilizes the Interdisciplinary Intervention Model, which is an innovative methodology that relies upon the evidence-based strategies drawn from research done in years past, while integrating the progressive recommendations made for professionals to build upon in years to come. The result is a unified focus of treatment within which multiple disciplines are brought together to address naturally inseparable needs and challenges. Through the dissection of existing research, careful selection and placement of effective educational strategies, and innovative and holistic perspective on treatment, the foundation for a comprehensive intervention practice has been laid.
Services
CPI provides a wide-variety of Center, Community, and Home-Based services for individuals, beginning at the age of 18 months. Services include 1:1 and small group opportunities for Early Childhood, Childhood, and Adolescent interventions, as well as other consultation services, groups, camps, and much more.
